Charlie and Sid at Pelican 2023. This painting emerged from a day spent sketching among close friends at our favourite bar, depicting the warmth and comfort created within close friendships and familiar places, as well as the collections and items that contribute to each of our own creative.
After picking up oil paints during the lockdowns, I used portraiture to develop my work. After completing an art foundation in London I made the decision to continue painting outside of formal education, and through the new people and places around me was exposed to the art world of south London, and aim to capture this environment and how it informs my work, whilst concentrating on staying open and curious to allow my skills, ideas and style to evolve and improve.
